According to Dr. Zakir Naik, “As far as working in a bank for Muslims is considered Working in any position is haram. If you are working with a business in which the core activity is haram then working in that bank in any position is prohibited since riba is the 12th major sin in Islam

You cannot work in a bank as a bank manager, clerk, cashier, network engineer, or security guard. All are prohibited because the core activity is not permitted.

“Most of the transactions that are done nowadays involve riba, which is haram according to the  Qur’an and Sunnah and the consensus of the ummah. The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cursed the one who consumes riba, the one who pays it, the one who writes it down, and the two who witness it, and he said,” They are all the same.”
